2022 MEDARVA Foundation Virtual Science Fair Application

Show off your research skills and knowledge by participating in MEDARVA Foundation's region-wide virtual science fair. Investigate an interesting topic and submit an abstract, an experimental design diagram, and a short video highlighting your process and results for a chance to win a scholarship.

The fair is open to any Greater Richmond area student in grades 6–12.

Prizes will be awarded in two student categories:

Junior Level (grades 6–8)
• First Prize - $1,500
• Second Prize - $1,000
• Third Prize - $500

Senior Level (grades 9–12)
• First Prize - $1,500
• Second Prize - $1,000
• Third Prize - $500

Educator Award
• $1,000 presented to each of the current science educator sponsors of the first prize winners in each category.

Registration and submission are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on April 17, 2022.- Winners will be notified by May 26, 2022 and must be able to attend the awards event on June 9, 2022.

General Rules
• All projects must be the original work of the student.
• The content must conform to all individual school policies.
• The decisions of the judges are final.
• By submitting an projects, entrants agree that the MEDARVA Foundation can use their name, likeness and project details for promotional purposes.

All individuals who appear in the video must send in a photo release. Save all the photo releases into one combined PDF.

Even though most projects pose no risk, a tool or technique deemed “safe” could become very dangerous if misused. By submitting your research project, you agree that you have adhered to and ensured that:
● people and animals involved in your project are safe
● your project is based on the safety regulations from your individual school
● all relevant parties have appropriately assessed the the risks associated with your project and that safety precautions are planned for and carried out.
